PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThe packaging of products fosters romanticized fantasies that construct dissonance between the perception of the product and the reality of what it contains. Manipulating the packaging of the Raspberry Rose Poppi soda using the existing content to reframe the reputation of the brand, I created a poster to critique Poppi’s friendly advertisement. The brand ensures that their soda is healthy and boosts consumers’ gut microbiome. However, in June of 2024, a lawsuit against Poppi stated that the drinks do not contain enough prebiotic fiber to have any effect on consumers’ gut health. Using this context as inspiration, this work depicts Poppi as a friend who has betrayed one’s trust.
